Click here to go back to the main music page The Tim's Record Label iPod Tutorial This guide explains how to download one of our albums or EPs and transfer it to your iPod. It assumes minimal computer literacy. 1.Go to http://www.timsrecordlabel.co.uk 2.Click on "Music" 3.Scroll down the music page till you reach the artist you want. 4.Below the list of featured tracks by that artist is the wide beige button that will take you through to the download area, click on it. 5.On the page you then arrive at you'll see the wide button above each release to download it. 6.Clicking on one of these buttons takes you to a page that asks you whether you want to pay for your download. If you click "Yes" you'll be taken to the checkout. After paying a donation you'll see a link saying "Back to Tim's Record Label", which you can click to take you to the page with your download. If you click "No" you'll go straight to the download page. 7.You'll then be presented with another big button, clicking on this begins the download. 8.What happens next depends on your operating system and browser. You'll usually be offered the option to either "open" or "save" the file. Choose "Save". Internet Explorer usually asks you where you want to save the file. Firefox normally downloads either to your desktop, or sometimes under Windows Vista to another folder called "Downloads" which you should see a link to down the left hand side of a "My Computer" window. For the purposes of this example we're assuming you've saved it to your desktop. 9.If you're using Windows, right-click the downloaded file on your desktop and choose "Extract All..." or "Extract Here". You may then be presented with more options asking you where you want to extract the files to. Choose the desktop. If you're using a Mac, Double-click the downloaded file on your desktop to extract the files to a folder. 10.You should now have a folder called the name of the release you downloaded on the desktop. Open iTunes. 11.Click "File" and then choose "Add to Library". Some versions of iTunes have two options, "Add files to library" and "Add folder to library". Choose "Add folder to library" if this is the case. 12.If you had the option of adding the folder then you just need to find the folder on your desktop in the file browser window that comes up, and select it with single click, then click "OK". If you just clicked "Add to library..." then find the folder, double-click to open it then select all the files in the folder by holding down the shift key, clicking the file at the top of the list, then clicking the file at the bottom of the list. Then click "OK". 13.If you then click "View" and choose "Album View" then click "Music" at the top of the library panel on the left, you should then be able to see the songs you downloaded in your library. 14.If you then plug your iPod in, you can click and drag the cover of the album over the graphic for your iPod to transfer the songs. 15.That's it! Ready for listening. |
