As a moody teenager I was fascinated by comic books. In a world which didn't understand me, the vivid and colourful output of the imaginations of a clique of talented misfits that filled the shelf space of my local Forbidden Planet was both an escape and an inspiration. Of course, I had to fill up those study periods in sixth form somehow, having of course completed my homework in mere minutes. So off I went, drawing cartoon strips, some serious, some silly, most not suitable for publication, or even reading by myself frankly. But there are some stories tucked in my old school folders which make for acceptable reading, even if they don't actually make sense. Dan The Frog - Crime Busta
Having peppered my early comics with swearing, I decided it was time to appeal to the massmarket, and thus began a series of comics which were slanted more towards surreal humour inspired by Reeves and Mortimer et al. Looking at it again after all these years, it's a lot more surreal than I remember. Although I did go on to sell a couple of them to my teachers. So, anyway, here's Dan the Frog. The idea was that every episode something of Dan's would go missing, prompting an impromptu investigation and guaranteeing much silliness and "hilarious consequences" along the way.
